Atlanta to host Mexico vs Paraguay friendly on May 29

Paraguayan Football Association (APF) have announced that La Albirroja will face Mexico national team in their final warm-up game for the 2016 Copa America Centenario.

The clash will take place at the Georgia Dome Stadium in Atlanta on May 29, some five days before Paraguay face Costa Rica in their opening Copa America Centenario clash.

The friendly game will be played just over a year after Mexico won the same fixture at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on March 31.

Paraguay have been placed in Group A alongside hosts United States, Colombia and Costa Rica, and city of Orlando has been chosen as their base camp.

Meanwhile, Mexico will face Jamaica, Uruguay and Venezuela in Group C, with El Tri hoping to go all the way at the showpiece tournament.

Paraguay are set to begin preparations for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Brazil, as coach Ramon Diaz announced his 27-man yesterday.
