Roma vs Bologna prediction

Round 32 of the Serie A will close on Monday night at Stadio Olimpico, with the match between Roma and Bologna. I Rossoblu hope they will finally arrest the negative trend against i Giallorossi, but the capital club are not easy to beat in front of their supporters this season.

I Giallorossi rule Rome

After a rather pale performance against Inter, Luciano Spalletti’s charges bounced back to winning ways with a magnificent performance against Lazio in the Derby della Capitale, led by El Shaarawy and Florenzi (4-1). Edin Dzeko and Diego Perotti also got in the goal scoring charts, but Spalletti was particularly satisfied with Manolas and Rudiger, who neutralized Lazio’s attackers. Il Capitano was not given a chance, due to his misconduct with the manager, but Totti was happy to see his teammates conquer Rome. Now i Lupi travel home, hoping to continue their positive run against Bologna and, judging by the current dreadful form of the Rossoblu, the fans expect their team will record yet another victory. Roma have been rather productive on home soil of late, mostly thanks to Mohamed Salah and El Shaarawy, who will present a handful to opposition defenders once again.

Radja Nainggolan is serving his suspension, so will be unavailable for the forthcoming match. William Vainqueur is still sidelined due to his groin injury.

Bologna struggle in front of opposition goals of late

It seems that Roberto Donadoni’s forwards took some time off, since the Rossoblu have been absolutely dreadful in front of opposition goals of late, with a mere one goal in their last six matches. Mattia Destro is injured, while Emanuele Giaccherini is on an eight-game barren run in the Serie A. With such an impotent attack, Bologna became the first club in the league that suffered a home defeat against bottom-draw Verona, even though they were dominant in the most of the match (1-0). Despite the fact that the team from Emilia-Romagna recorded more triumphs this season on their travels than on home soil, the current form of their available forwards give Donadoni little hope his charges will record a positive result in the capital. The defensive line used to be rather successful on the road, but started to show signs of weakness in recent matches, so I do not expect Mirante will keep his net intact this Monday.

Roberto Donadoni will be without the likes of Mattia Destro (broken toe) and Archimede Morleo (thigh), who are in the recovery room, while Emanuele Giaccherini is suspended.

Quick Facts

  • Roma lost just once in their previous fifteen encounters with Bologna
  • I Giallorossi are on an eight-game undefeated run on home soil
  • I Rossoblu netted only one goal in their last six league fixtures
  • Roberto Donadoni’s charges suffered two consecutive defeats on the road
  • More than 2.5 goals were seen in four of their previous five clashes

Roma vs Bologna betting tip

Red-hot Roma are the absolute favorites in the forthcoming clash, judging by Bologna’s poor away form of late. I Giallorossi have been outstanding at Stadio Olimpico and three points from this clash will allow them to cement the position number three in the overall standings. This is why I will bet on the home team.
