The Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) has announced the final Uruguay squad for 2016 Copa America Centenario selected by head coach Oscar Tabarez.
La Celeste are scheduled to play Mexico, Venezuela and Jamaica in Group C of the showpiece tournament that will be held from 3 June to 26 June in the United States.
Head coach Oscar Tabarez had previously released a provisional list containing 35 players and he has now announced his final 23-man squad as well.
As expected, star players Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani and Diego Godin are included, with Hull’s in-form striker Abel Hernandez also keeping his place.
Tabarez decided to keep hold of both Nicolas Lodeiro and Gaston Ramirez despite the fact they are both injured at the moment, since they are both expected to recover before the tournament starts.
Manchester United starlet Guillermo Varela and Inter Milan winger Diego Laxalt are among high-profile players that were cut from the provisional roster.
