Serbia vs Israel Team News

Ljubomir Fejsa and Nemanja Gudelj remain on the sidelines with injury, with Schalke defender Matija Nastasic missing out as well. Nemanja Matic played against Cyprus, but he is not going to be risked against Israel. Goalkeepers Vladimir Stojkovic and Predrag Rajkovic return to contention, but Nemanja Maksimovic misses the match due to club commitments. Lazar Markovic is yet another absentee in the home team (injury), but Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic returns to contention.

CSKA midfielder Bibras Natkho and Celtic footballer Nir Bitton both made the squad. Brighton ace Tomer Hemed will be rested against Serbia.

Quick Facts

  • Israel are on a three-game losing run ahead of the Serbia game
  • Serbia scored 2+ goals in three of their last four home matches
  • Over 2.5 goals were netted in five of Serbia’s last six matches
  • Israel are after their first ever win over Serbia
  • Branislav Ivanovic could play his 86th match for the Eagles against Israel

Serbia vs Israel Prediction

Serbia failed to qualify for the 2016 European Championship finals and they are desperate to book their place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The Eagles recorded a 2-1 win over Cyprus in their last friendly match and considering that the Serbs always produce fine performance when playing in Novi Sad, I am tempted to put my money on Slavoljub Muslin’s troops this time out. In their last meeting on the international stage Serbia recorded a routine 2-0 win over Israel.

Betting Tip: Serbia to win

Odds: 1.55 (6/11) @Betfair
