Belgian side KRC Genk have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Jamaican wonderkid Leon Bailey.
The 18-year-old has signed a three-year deal with an option for another season after rejecting offers from some of Europe’s top sides.
Bailey has already spent some time in Genk youth teams and he should have no problems adapting to the familiar surroundings.
The talented attacker is clearly the most exciting product of Jamaica’s Phoenix All Stars Football Academy and he even earned a sponsorship deal with Nike in January last year.
Bailey, who also enjoyed a short spell with Slovakian side Trencin, is currently a member of Jamaica Under-23 side and is tipped to be called in the senior squad in the near future.
The forward, who was also followed by Chelsea this summer, has been handed number 31 at Genk and he is expected to play an important role in the team next season.
Jamaica national team have seriously raised their profile of late, finishing as runners up at the 2015 Gold Cup on the back of some excellent performances.
