Hamren names Sweden squad for Denmark play-off

Hamren names Sweden squad for Denmark play-offSweden coach has announced the list of 24 players that will be in contention for upcoming Euro 2021 play-off tie against Denmark.

Having surrendered the second place in their group to Russia, Blagult will battle their neighbours for a place at the tournament finals.

The first leg takes place at Friends Arena in Solna on 14 November, with the return match played three days later in Kobenhavn.

Just as we suggested few days ago, Erik Hamren has decided to hand a first ever call-up to Norkopping striker Emir Kujovic, who scored 21 goals in 29 league appearances.

The likes of Albin Ekdal and Pontus Jansson miss out through injury, but Ola Toivonen is back to the side, together with Palermo’s in-form midfielder Oscar Hiljemark.

Important midfielder Emil Forsberg is included despite missing some action due to problems with wisdom teeth, with Oscar Lewicki and Abdul Khalili keeping their places in the side.

Midfielders: Jimmy Durmaz (Olympiacos), Emil Forsberg (Leipzig), Abdulrahman Khalili (Mersin), Kim Källström (Grasshoppers), Oscar Lewicki (Malmö), Pontus Wernbloom (CSKA Moskva), Erkan Zengin (Trabzonspor), Gustav Svensson (Göteborg), Oscar Hiljemark (Palermo);

Forwards: Marcus Berg (Panathinaikos), Zlatan Ibrahimović (Paris Saint-Germain), John Guidetti (Celta Vigo), Emir Kujovic (Norrköping), Ola Toivonen (Sunderland).
