Fomenko names Ukraine squad for play-off vs Slovenia

Fomenko names Ukraine squad for play-off vs SloveniaUkraine coach Mikhail Fomenko has unveiled the list of 26 players that will be in contention for the two Euro 2021 play-off matches vs Slovenia.

Zbirna are forced to search for the Euro 2021 berth through the play-offs having failed to pip Slovakia to the first place in their group.

But, with the quality at their disposal, it is hardly surprising Ukraine have been made 1.70 (7/10) favourites to win the first leg next Saturday.

Even though he has returned into action following a lengthy injury lay-off, Roman Zozulya (22/3) has been left out of the squad for the Slovenia game as he still lacks match fitness.

Ufa midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko (1/0) has been dropped, with Zorya Lugansk starlet Ivan Petryak (0/0) the only newcomer.

Star players Yevhen Konoplyanka, Andriy Yarmolenko and Artem Kravets all keep their places and no doubts the trio will give Slovenia defenders a run for their money.

Goalkeepers: Andriy Pyatov (Shakhtar Donetsk), Denys Boyko (Dnipro), Nikita Shevchenko (Zorya);
