Las Palmas vs Getafe prediction

Having defeated Eibar at the weekend, Las Palmas will be looking to move a little to the safe zone with a victory over fellow relegation-threatened side Getafe. Los Amarillos are brimming with confidence ahead of the visit of los Azulones, but Tuesday’s game will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts.

Morale-boosting win over Eibar

Las Palmas did remarkably well to put an end to their three-match losing run in La Liga at the weekend, with the team beating Eibar on a waterlogged pitch. Los Amarillos aim to secure the top flight survival and they are likely to go all guns blazing at Getafe on Tuesday evening. Quique Sanchez Flores’ men were beaten by Barcelona in their last home game in the national championship, but it has to be noted that the newcomers missed a number of clear-cut chances to score in the defeat to Luis Enrique’s troops. Las Palmas are eyeing their sixth consecutive win at home ground, but they need to produce a thrilling performance against los Azulones if they are to pick up all three points from the match. Willian Jose is likely to lead the line for the hosts against Getafe.

The likes of Dani Castellano, Javi Castellano, David Simon, Vicente Gomez and Angel Lopez are all out of contention through injury, but there are no suspended players in the home team.

Azulones running down a blind alley

Getafe have been struggling to find their form in La Liga. Los Azulones are on a six-game losing run in the national championship and they have been misfiring of late. Fran Escriba’s men failed to score in five of their last six league games and that is the main reason why away win should not be considered this time out. The capital club suffered a 1-0 loss to Celta Vigo at their weekend and, no doubt, coach Fran Escriba is under big pressure ahead of the trip to Las Palmas. It is well known that Getafe struggle on the travels and their performance in a 3-0 loss at Levante was pretty awful. Situation at Estadio Coliseum Alfonso Perez is alarming and Fran Escriba will have to make some changes to the starting line-up for the Las Palmas game. Both Stefan Scepovic and Alvaro Vazquez have been struggling to find their scoring boots of late and it is no surprise los Azulones scored their last goal in the league on 23 January.

Carlos Vigaray and Roberto Lago both miss the game with injury, but coach Fran Escriba has no other injury concerns ahead of the Las Palmas clash.

Quick Facts

  • Under 2.5 goals were scored in three of Getafe’s last four league games
  • Los Amarillos are eyeing their sixth home win of the season
  • Getafe conceded exactly three goals in each of their previous three away fixtures
  • Los Azulones are on a six-match losing run in La Liga
  • Fran Escriba’s men scored seven goals in previous two meetings with Las Palmas

Las Palmas vs Getafe betting tip

Both Las Palmas and Getafe are desperate to grab something from Tuesday’s La Liga game. Both sides aim to secure the top flight survival and there is every chance both teams will adopt an attack-minded approach in the Estadio de Gran Canaria clash. Las Palmas have been in a much better form than Getafe of late and that is the main reason why home win should be considered.

Tip: Las Palmas to win
