Instead, he chose Groningen, Netherlands and it turned out to be the best possible decision, bearing in mind the fact that he was given the necessary space for further development and soon became an integral part of the team, forming a diabolical duo with Richairo Zivkovic. Two of them tormented opposition defenders in the Eredivisie for two years, when it was time to go once again. Zivkovic went to Ajax, while Kostic made another remarkable decision by agreeing to join Stuttgart.
The winger overcomes difficult start
The beginning was not easy, but, little by little, he managed to earn his spot on the left flank. In his first year in Germany, he started fifteen matches for the entire season, while this term he is simply irreplaceable, being a starter in seventeen games, still to come on from the bench. From the beginning of 2016 we can honestly say that Filip Kostic is the leader of his team. The Serb is one of the best rated players in Bundesliga currently. He is also becoming an important part of the Serbian national team, and such achievements clearly do not go unnoticed.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is seriously interested in him, as the German manager clearly wants to increase the Serbian colony at Merseyside. Schalke 04 have been following Kostic for a while now. Certain sources say that the Bavarian giant would like to see him in their ranks, while supposedly Roma sent an offer worth around £9.500.000 in not such a distant past. Nevertheless, he remained immune to multi million offers and stayed with the Swabians, waiting for yet another perfect offer. I myself am confident he should stay in Germany since it is the perfect environment for his further flourishment. All in all I am quite sure that Filip will make yet another wise decision and become a class-act in German football, following in the footsteps of Ribery, Robben, Muller, etc.
