Head to head record

Alessandria vs Milan 0-1 (2015/2016 Coppa Italia)

Milan vs Alessandria prediction

Milan will be looking to clinch their spot in the Coppa Italia final with yet another win over Alessandria. The Rossoneri recorded a 1-0 win over the Lega Pro side in the first leg, but they can’t afford any complacency in the Stadio San Siro clash.

Rossoneri with one foot in the final

It has been 13 years since Milan won their last Coppa Italia trophy. The Rossoneri are unlikely to win the Scudetto and, as a result, they will give their best to save the season by clinching the Italian Cup trophy. Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men have eliminated the likes of Perugia, Crotone, Sampdoria and Carpi on their way to the semis and thanks to a hard-fought 1-0 win over Alessandria Milan moved one step closer to booking their place in the final of the competition. The Rossoneri have been in a fine form of late, but they need to take Tuesday’s clash very seriously if they are to make it to the Coppa Italia final for the first time since 2003. Carlos Bacca failed to find the net in a 1-0 win over Torino at the weekend, but the Colombian attacker is likely to prove a handful for the opposition defenders. It has to be noted that the former Sevilla attacker has netted two goals in the process so far, while scoring 13 goals in the 2015/2016 Serie A campaign to date.

Riccardo Montolivo returns to contention after missing the Torino game through suspension, while Diego Lopez, Rodrigo Ely, Luiz Adriano and Philippe Mexes are all out of contention with injury.

Uphill task for Alessandria

By beating the likes of Alto Vicentino, Pro Vercelli, Juve Stabia, Palermo, Genoa and Spezia Alessandria set up a meeting with Milan in the Italian Cup semis. The Rossoneri proved to be a big catch for the Lega Pro side in the first leg and, as a result, the underdogs face an uphill task in Tuesday’s clash against Sinisa Mihajlovic’s charges. Alessandria head into the Stadio San Siro clash following a 2-1 loss to Bassano Virtus and it remains to be seen if they are capable of claiming a major scalp in the Italian Cup semi-finals. The visitors are on a four-match winning run on the road in Coppa Italia, but beating Milan at Stadio San Siro is easier said than done. A man to watch in the away team will be Riccardo Bocalon, who has netted 15 goals in all competitions this season. You should have in mind that Alessandria made it to the Coppa Italia final back in 1936, but they have yet to win the Italian Cup trophy.

Coach Angelo Gregucci is unlikely to make too many changes to the team that faced Milan in the first leg, but aforementioned attacker Riccardo Bocalon should be recalled to the starting line-up.

Quick Facts

  • Milan are on an eleven-game unbeaten run in all competitions
  • Rossoneri outplayed the likes of Genoa and Torino in previous two home games
  • Sinisa Mihajlovic’s team are after their 13th Coppa Italia final
  • Alessandria failed to keep a clean sheet in previous seven games
  • The Lega Pro side have eliminated two Serie A sides in the process (Palermo and Genoa)

Milan vs Alessandria betting tip

Milan have been producing fine displays of late and considering that the Rossoneri are desperate to win a trophy in the 2015/2016 campaign, I am positive that they will take Tuesday’s clash against Alessandria very seriously. Sinisa Mihajlovic’s troops are a real force to be reckoned with at home and, taking everything into account, I believe that there is a big value in betting on the Serie A side.
