The two Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich square off against each other in Saturday’s derby at Signal-Iduna-Park. The Bavarians aim to bounce back from a shocking 2-1 loss to Mainz, while the Millonaires will give their best to melt Bayern’s advantage in the standings to just two points.
Millionaires flying high
Borussia Dortmund have been producing splendid displays in 2016. The Millionaires are on a four-game winning run in the Bundesliga and they head into Wednesday’s game against Bayern Munich following a 2-0 win over Darmstadt. Marco Reus was rested in the match against the newcomers, but he will be the man to watch in the home team in Saturday’s derby against Bayern Munich. Thomas Tuchel’s troops will not have a better chance than this to melt Bayern Munich’s advantage in the Bundesliga standings and given their impressive form, the hosts are definitely capable of defeating the title holders. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been scoring goals for fun this season and he is likely to prove a handful for the opposition back line. The Millionaires recorded a come-from behind win over Hoffenheim in their last home fixture and you should know that the hosts are after their eighth consecutive victory at Signal-Iduna-Park.
Marco Reus and Shinji Kagawa are both likely to be recalled to the starting XI, while the likes of Paasslack, Bonmann and Soktratis all miss the match with injury. Adrian Ramos is likely to drop to the bench.
Embarrassing defeat to Mainz
It is well known that Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola is going to leave the club in the summer, but if the Bavarians continue to struggle in the Bundesliga, the Catalan tactician could leave the Allianz-Arena sooner than expected. The defending champions experienced all sorts of problems in Wednesday’s game against Mainz and it has to be noted that the visitors totally deserved to pick up all three points from the match. The league leaders aim to return to winning ways and, no doubt, a win over Borussia Dortmund in Saturday’s Bundesliga derby would help them move one step closer to defending their domestic trophy. Arjen Robben scored a wonder goal in the 2-1 loss to Mainz, meaning that the opposition defenders should have the Dutch winger at bay on Saturday night. Bayern Munich outclassed the Millionaires (5-1) in the reverse fixture, but given their recent form, the title holders are unlikely to repeat the success on Matchday 25.
Holger Badstuber, Jerome Boateng and Javi Martinez have yet to recover from their respective injuries, but coach Pep Guardiola has no fresh injury worries ahead of the Bundesliga derby.

Thomas Tuchel welcomes key player Marco Reus back to the starting XI and given that BVB are tough to beat at home, I would not be surprised if they grab something from the game.
