Star players Karim Benzema and Kevin Gameiro have been overlooked, while Real Madrid ace Raphael Varane misses the Euro 2021 finals with injury. Barcelona defender was forced to withdraw from the squad with injury as well, with Samuel Umtiti of Lyon stepping up. Antoine Griezmann was rested against Scotland, but he is likely to start against Romania in the Euro 2021 opener. Mathieu Valbuena, Mamadou Sakho, Hatem Ben Arfa and Alexandre Lacazette did not make the final roster. France winger Anthony Martial is fit, but he is likely to start from the bench. Antoine Griezmann returns to the starting line-up and the Atletico Madrid ace should help the hosts beat Romania in their opener.
