Czech Republic vs Russia Team News

The likes of Matej Vydra and Martin Frydek (injury) have been left out Czech Euro 2021 provisional squad, but Tomas Rosicky is fit and he should represent his homeland at the 2016 European Championship finals. The likes of Tomas Necid and David Lafata both came as substitutes in a 6-0 win over Malta and they are likely to be recalled to the starting line-up. Patrik Schick scored on his Czech Republic debut and he is pushing for a start as well.

Injured: Martin Frydek

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

Schalke midfielder Roman Neustadter has been included in Russian Euro 2021 squad, but Oleg Kuzmin and Yuri Zhirkov were forced to withdraw through injury. Roman Shishkn and Georgi Schennikov have replaced the duo in the final roster and the bad news for the fans is that Denis Cheryshev and Alan Dzagoev are sidelined with injury as well. A man to watch in the away team will be Zenit attacker Artem Dzyuba. Roman Shirokov picked up a knock and he is unlikely to be risked against Czech Republic.

Quick Facts

  • Over 3.5 goals were scored in four of Czech Republic’s last six games
  • Russia scored 2+ goals in previous five matches away from home
  • Over 2.5 goals were netted in each of Russia’s last three matches
  • Rosicky is likely to play his 102nd match for the Czech national team against Russia
  • Eleven goals were scored in last two meetings between Russia and Czech Republic

Czech Republic vs Russia Prediction

Both Czech Republic and Russia continue their preparations for Euro 2021 finals. The Czechs outclassed Malta (6-0) on Friday and considering that the Russians head into the match with a severely-weakened squad, home win should be considered. It has to be noted that Pavel Vrba’s men scored ten goals in last three home games.

Betting Tip: Czech Republic to win
