IFK Norrkoping boss Jan Andersson will be appointed Sweden national team head coach after the Euro 2021 finals, the Swedish Football Association (SvFF) has revealed.
The SvFF were on the lookout for the new head coach after Erik Hamren announced that he would leave the post after the tournament in France.
And they have now decided to appoint Jan Andersson, who surprisingly led IFK Norrkoping to the Swedish league title in 2015.
“The Swedish Football Association confirms that the committee has unanimously backed the proposal to appoint Jan Andersson, currently trainer of IFK Norrkoping, as the new coach of the national team. He will take over after the Euros in France,” the statement read.
After eliminating neighbours Denmark in the play-offs, Sweden were pitted alongside Belgium, Italy and Republic of Ireland in Group E.
Blagult will also face the likes of Slovenia (30 May) and Wales (6 June) before they take on the Green Army at Stade de France on 13 June.
