Fiorentina vs Juventus prediction

Massimiliano Allegri’s charges are keen to secure the title as soon as possible and they will go for a win at Stadio Artemio Franchi this Sunday night. Viola, on the other hand, will try to stay undefeated on home soil and arrest the negative trend against Juventus.

Fiorentina suffer from a serious dip in form

Fiorentina suffered a surprising defeat at the hands of struggling Udinese on Wednesday night (2-1). The run of disappointing results since the end of February ended Viola’s Champions League dream, as they now trail nine point behind Roma. The team from Florence recorded a single triumph in their last eight league games and if the below par displays continue, Paulo Sousa could look for a new job pretty soon. The Portuguese manager had certain contacts with Zenit and might head to Russia this summer. Josip Ilicic and Mauro Zarate are the only productive forwards in the team of recent, but the fact is that Stadio Artemio Franchi outfit have been struggling in front of opposition goals of late. Bearing in mind they are facing the strongest defense in the Serie A, chances are we will hardly witness a single goal in Buffon’s net.

Khouma Babacar (hamstring) will be sidelined. Yohan Benalouane (back) is a doubt, as well as Nikola Kalinic (fever). Matias Vecino is back in training, but will probably miss the match.

The dominance continues

La Vecchia Signora defeated a reinvigorated Lazio and proved once more how dominant they are currently. Even though i Biancocelesti put on a good fight in the first half, Mandzukic and Dybala secured all three points. The Argentina international rediscovered his goal scoring instinct and netted a brace after quite a while, so it is expected he will present a handful to Fiorentina’s defenders on Sunday night. The Old Lady is now on a twenty-four-game undefeated streak in the Serie A and the title seems within reach, as they are nine points ahead of the Partenopei, but they will not leave anything to chance, since the plan is to take all three points in the forthcoming clash. Judging by the miserable form of Viola, this should not be such a difficult task for red-hot Juventus, since they won eleven of their previous twelve fixtures on the road.

Giorgio Chiellini and Roberto Pereyra are back in training after their respective injuries, but will probably miss the match. Martin Caceres and Claudio Marchisio are out for the remaining of the season.

Quick Facts

  • Juventus are on a three-game winning run against Viola
  • Fiorentina achieved a single win in their last nine fixtures
  • La Vecchia Signora won twenty three of their previous twenty four matches (D1)
  • Paulo Sousa’s men are undefeated on home soil in eight straight matches
  • The fans saw more than 2.5 goals on average in their last four encounters

Fiorentina vs Juventus betting tip

La Vecchia Signora seem practically unstoppable at the moment, given the productivity of their forwards and their rock-solid defense. Fiorentina are far from their best form, so I do not expect them to be a worthy opponent to Allegri’s side, which is why I will back the visitors this time out.

Tip: Juventus to win
