Portugal vs France Team News

The good news for Fernando Santos is that important midfielder William Carvalho returns from suspension. Defender Pepe should recover in time to face France in the Euro 2021 final, but he remains a doubt. Fernando Santos has no other selection worries ahead of the match and he is likely to stick to the 4-4-2 formation. Bruno Alves is likely to drop to the bench.

Injured: None

Doubtful: Pepe (74/3)

Suspended: None

France coach Didier Deschamps has no fresh injury worries ahead of the title game and he is likely to field the same starting XI that faced Germany in the semi-final. Olivier Giroud does not seem to be at the top of his game, but the Arsenal forward is widely expected to lead the attack for les Tricolores against Portugal. Samuel Umtiti should keep his place in the starting XI, meaning that Adil Rami is likely to start from the bench.

Injured: None

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

  • Under 2.5 goals were netted in five of Portugal’s six matches at Euro 2021

Portugal vs France Prediction

Thanks to the 2-0 win over star-studded Germany France moved one step closer to winning their third European Championship trophy. Les Tricolores play in front of home fans at Euro 2021 finals and considering that Antoine Griezmann and Co. have been scoring goals for fun at the showpiece tournament, I am tempted to put my money on the hosts. Portugal did not faced a tough fixture list in the knockout stages and that is the main reason why they reached the European Championship final.

Betting Tip: France to win
