Real Betis vs Las Palmas prediction

Tuesday’s match at Estadio Benito Villamarin pits together Real Betis and Las Palmas. Los Beticos played out a 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo at the weekend and it remains to be seen if they are capable of escaping the danger zone with a victory over los Amarillos.

Fine performance against Celta

Even though everybody expected that Real Betis would suffer a loss to Celta Vigo at Estadio de Balaidos the Andalusian side did remarkably well to play out a 1-1 draw os Celeste in Galicia. Juan Merino is doing a good job with the Estadio Benito Villamarin outfit and los Beticos are on the right track to secure yet another top flight survival. Real Betis are nine points clear of the relegation zone and a win over Las Palmas would help them move one step closer to meeting their goal. Ruben Castro missed a golden opportunity to score the winner in the 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo, but he is likely to lead the line for the hosts against Las Palmas. The experienced forward has been scoring goals for fun this season, meaning that the opposition defenders should have him at bay.

Full back Montoya is a major doubt and he will be assessed on the match day, while Juan Vargas remains in the recovery room. Joaquin is likely to drop to the bench.

Four-game winning on the road

Las Palmas were struggling to find their form in the first half of the season and many people expected that the newcomers would certainly drop to Segunda Division. However, los Amarillos did well to prove the doubters wrong. Quique Setien’s troops are on the right track to secure the elite division survival as they are 11 points clear of bottom three ahead of Matchday 34. Las Palmas are eyeing their fifth consecutive away win on the road and you should bear in mind that they outplayed the likes of Eibar, Villarreal, Real Sociedad and Deportivo La Coruna in previous four away games in the league. Los Amarillos played out a 1-1 draw with Sporting Gijon in their last home fixture in La Liga and they would certainly be happy with one point from the Estadio Benito Villamarin clash. Willian Jose came as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Sporting, but the Brazilian attacker should lead the line for the visitors this time out.

The likes of Jonathan Viera and Roque Mesa have been left out of the squad, while Nauzet Aleman, Mubarak Wakaso and Juan Carlos Valeron are all sidelined with injury.

Quick Facts

  • Under 2.5 goals were scored in six of Real Betis’ last seven home games
