Liverpool, Tottenham vying for Olivier Kemen

Premier League giants Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are locked in the battle for Newcastle midfielder Olivier Kemen, according to L’Equipe.

The talented footballer was snatched by Magpies from Metz two years ago and he has impressed playing for the Under-21 and Reserve sides.

But, having failed to make a single appearance for the senior squad, it looks as though the 18-year-old is ready to quit St James’ Park.

The latest reports suggested that both Liverpool and Tottenham have entered talks with Newcastle hoping to secure the youngster’s signature.

Kemen will captain the France national team at the Under-19 UEFA Championship that kicks off later today in Greece, after starting six matches and scoring one goal in the qualifiers.

The central midfielder is now at a crossroads as far as his club career is concerned, but everything suggests he will be staying in England.
