Balotelli tipped for Italy recall

Balotelli tipped for Italy recallItaly coach Antonio Conte is thinking about including Liverpool striker Mairo Balotelli in his squad for the Euro 2021 qualifiers vs Azerbaijan and Norway.

The Azzurri are currently top of group H ahead of the final two games and they can be backed at 1.28 (7/25) to defeat Azerbaijan on the road and secure their place at the tournament finals.

The latest reports suggest that Antonio Conte could recall controversial striker Mario Balotelli back to the side and AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani has moved to confirm the reports.

“People should let Conte do his work and await the call-ups,” Galliani told Premium Sport. “Conte did speak to Mihajlovic, so we’ll see what happens…

“Balotelli is behaving wonderfully and over the last month has been beyond reproach both on the field and off. It’s true a month isn’t enough to judge, but Mario is being super in every way.”

Balotelli last played for the Italian national team in June 2014, but some promising performances since returning to AC Milan could help him return to the Azzurri squad.

The 25-year-old scored one goal in four league matches while on loan with the Rossoneri, but could now take advantage of Antonio Conte’s shortage of in-form strikers.
