Brazil vs Panama 4-0 (2014 Friendly International)

Panama vs Brazil Team News

Star players Blas Perez, Jaime Penedo and Luis Tejada all made Panama Copa America squad. There are no new names in the final roster as coach Hernan Gomez opted against big changes to his standard group. Talented striker Ismael Diaz misses the match with a knee injury.

Injured: Ismael Diaz

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

The likes of Neymar, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Marcelo, Alex Sandro, Oscar, Fernandinho and Roberto Firmino have been left out of Brazil Copa America squad, but Barcelona midfielder Rafinha Alcantara surprisingly made the squad. Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro and Atletico Madrid full back Filipe Luis both miss the Panama game due to club commitments. Douglas Santos could make his Brazil debut against Panama. It has to be noted that Bayern Munich star Douglas Costa was forced to withdraw through injury. Former AC Milan ace Kaka will replace him in Brazil’s 23-man squad. Jonas has replaced Ricardo Oliveira.

Injured: Ricardo Oliveira, Douglas Costa

Quick Facts

  • Under 1.5 goals were scored in each of Panama’s last five games
  • Panama are after their fourth consecutive clean sheet
  • Brazil suffered only one loss in previous seven games
  • Hulk could earn his 47th cap for Brazil against Panama
  • The Selecao scored 2+ goals in each of their last three games

Panama vs Brazil Prediction

Brazil head into Monday’s friendly against Panama with a severely-weakened squad, but regardless of which players will be deployed in the starting line-up, the Selecao are regarded as favourites to emerge triumphant in the Dick’s Sporting Goods Park clash. Brazil have been scoring goals for fun in 2016 and, taking everything into account, I am tempted to back Carlos Dunga’s men to record a win in Monday’s friendly.
