Hull vs Nottingham Forest prediction

Tuesday’s clash at Kingston Communications Stadium sees third-placed Hull City take on bottom-table Nottingham Forest in a postponed Championship clash. The Tigers are eager to regain their place in top two, but the Reds should not be written off just yet.

Dip in form

Hull City are regarded as one of the main favourites to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League, but the team’s recent form is anything but good. The Tigers sit in third place in the Championship standings and they are on a four-game winless run in all competitions ahead of the visit of Nottingham Forest. Hull City played out a 1-1 draw with Milton Keynes Dons at the weekend, but it has to be noted that they failed to turn their dominance into more goals. Steve Bruce’s men are eager to return to winning ways in the Championship and Tuesday’s match against Nottingham Forest could be the turning point for the Kingston Communications Stadium outfit. The team’s top scorer is Abel Hernandez, but the Uruguayan attacker has been firing blanks of late. Anyhow, the opposition defenders should have Hernandez at bay as he has already netted 16 goals in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign.

Steve Bruce can’t count on the likes of Jake Livermore, Shaun Maloney, Robert Snodgrass, Nick Powell and Ryan Taylor. The Hull City boss has no other selection worries ahead of the visit of Nottingham Forest.

New boss, same ambitions

Nottingham Forest have been struggling in the second half of the season and, as a result, the club chiefs decided to fire coach Dougie Freedman. Paul Williams is expected to be in charge of the team when they take on Hull City on Tuesday evening, but the Reds definitely face an uphill task in the Kingston Communications Stadium clash. Forest suffered five defeats in previous six league matches and the fact that they failed to score in previous two away games in the Championship is not giving the fans a reason for optimism ahead of the trip to Hull. The Reds are 14 points behind the play-offs berth and, win over Steve Bruce’s troops would certainly helped the team keep their hopes of reaching the play-offs alive. Nottingham Forest suffered a heavy 3-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend and they are likely to leave their hearts on the field in order to grab something from Tuesday’s game.

Britt Assombalonga, Daniel Pinillos and Henri Lansbury remain in the recovery room, while Jamie Ward remains a doubt. Robert Tesche is pushing for a start.

Quick Facts

  • Hull City scored only one goal in previous four matches
  • Tigers managed to keep five clean sheets in last six home games in the Championship
  • Hull are undefeated in previous eight home fixtures
  • Nottingham Forest failed to score in last two away games
  • Reds suffered five defeats in previous six league matches

Hull vs Nottingham Forest betting tip

Nottingham Forest fans believe that the new manager is going to help the team improver their game, but I do not believe that the Reds should be looking for points in matched against teams who are eyeing automatic promotion to the Premier League. The Tigers are a real force to be reckoned with at home and considering that Nottingham Forest often struggle on the travels, I believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts this time out.
