USA’s Michael Orozco joins Tijuana

Experienced defender Michael Orozco has completed a deal to join Tijuana, the Mexican club manager has moved to reveal.

Coach Ruben Amaro Romano has moved to confirm that the United States international has agreed to join los Xolos.

“Yes, it is already with us. It is permanent transfer, purchase by us,” Romano told ESPN Mexico.

The deal has yet to be confirmed by the two clubs, but everything suggests that Orozco will return to Tijuana after spending some time with the club on loan from San Luis.

The centre-back enjoyed two very successful years while on loan at Puebla, but he will now represent his third club in Mexico.

Orozco has been fairly regular in the US national soccer team under Jurgen Klinsmann, although he did miss the 2014 World Cup finals.

The 29-year-old currently has 16 USA caps to his name and has scored three goals in the process, recently coming on as a second-half substitute in a 4-3 friendly win over Netherlands.
