Europa League holders Sevilla are stepping up their efforts to recruit Chilean defender Sebastian Vegas from Audax Italiano, according to La Tercera.
The 18-year-old was one of the star performers at the international Under-20 tournament Torneo de l’Alcudia, where Chile emerge victorious from the star-studded line-up that also included Qatar, Equatorial Guinea, Atletico Madrid and Valencia youth sides, among others.
As a result, he caught the eye of Sevilla scouts, and los Rojibancos wasted no time in an attempt to secure the youngster’s services.
La Tercera has learned that the La Liga side submitted an official proposal for Vegas that is now under consideration by Audax Italiano.
The talented footballer will not be available on the cheap seeing as his employers want around $3 million for 50% of his economic rights.
Vegas has so far made 36 league appearances for Audax Italiano, while earning a call-up for Chile’s friendly against United States back in January.
He was, however, not called into Jorge Sampaoli’s squad for the friendly match against Paraguay, taking place on 5 September.
