Wales national team are on the verge of reaching an agreement to face Ukraine in one of their first warm-up games for the Euro 2021.
The Dragons enjoyed a dream campaign to qualify for their first ever European Championship finals, but the group stage draw was a bit harsh on Chris Coleman’s side.
Namely, Wales have been placed in Group B alongside England, Russia and Slovakia, and they are available at 1.90 (9/10) to qualify for the quarter-finals.
The latest reports suggest that the Dragons have decided to try and arrange a friendly against Ukraine as a way to prepare for the clash against Russia.
FA bosses are believed to be in advanced talks with their Ukraine counterparts, as a result of which the two sides are expected to square off in Kiev on 28 March.
Wales will also play a home game three or four days earlier, but the opponents have yet to be announced.
The match against one of Europe’s in-form sides that boast players like Yevhen Konoplyanka and Andriy Yarmolenko should be a good preparation for what awaits the Dragons in France, with Chris Coleman’s charges kicking off their campaign vs Slovakia on 11 June.
