Netherlands coach Danny Blind reveals he will use 4-3-3 formation

Netherlands coach Danny Blind reveals he will use 4-3-3 formationNew Netherlands coach Danny Blind has moved to reveal that the national team will play in 4-3-3 formation under his guidance.

Speaking one day before he is due to name preliminary Netherlands squad for Euro 2021 qualifiers vs Iceland and Turkey, the Ajax legend unveiled his initial plans for the Dutch national team.

“We stay with 4-3-3, yes. Absolutely.” Blind told reporters. “We have quality on the field and we can put together a very good team.”

Seeing as they trail Czech Republic and Iceland by three and five points respectively, Netherlands have no choice but to go for a win in September 3 qualifier against the Nordic side and they are 1.33 (1/3) to succeed in their quest.

Nevertheless, the coach faces serious selection problems at the moment, with the likes of Jetro Willems, Ron Vlaar, Kevin Strootman and Jordy Clasie already ruled out.

The good news is that Stefan de Vrij and Klaas Jan Huntelaar should be fit to play despite suffering injuries of late.

Blind also went to suggest that Robin van Persie should be named in the provisional squad in spite of the lack of first team practise, with the former Ajax coach set to reveal the initial list some time tomorrow.
