Head to head record

Frosinone vs Roma 0-2 (2015/2016 Serie A)

Roma vs Frosinone prediction

Roma will not have better chance than this to record their first win of the season. The Romans welcome Frosinone at their Stadio Olimpico and the Giallorossi need to pick up all three points from Saturday’s game if they are to keep their hopes of booking their place in the Champions League alive.

Romans eyeing their first win in 2016

Roma finished the 2014/2015 Serie A campaign in second place in the standings, but, as things stand now, the Giallorossi will be more than satisfied should they happen to finish the current season in top four. The Romans have been struggling in 2016 and seeing that they have yet to record a win in the Serie A in the new year, Luciano Spalletti’s men face a must-win situation in Saturday’s clash against Frosinone. The Giallorossi shared the spoils with the likes of Chievo, Milan, Hellas Verona, while suffering a 1-0 loss to Juventus at the weekend. However, despite losing to the “Old Lady” in Sunday’s derby, Roma’s performance was anything but poor in the Juventus Stadium clash. The Giallorossi are favourites on paper to beat Frosinone, but they will have to do it without pacey winger Gervinho, who has left the club in the January transfer window. Edin Dzeko failed to impress against Juve, but he is likely to keep his place up front and he could pose a big threat for the opposition defenders.

Coach Luciano Spalletti can’t count on the likes of Maicon, Ucan, Ponce and Strootman, whilst Alessandro Florenzi is a major doubt and he will be assessed on the match day.

Seven-game winless run

Frosinone are running down a blind alley ahead of the trip to the “Eternal City”. The relegation strugglers sit in 19th place in the standings at the moment and they are seven points behind Sampdoria, who are safe for now. The Canarini played out a goalless draw with Atalanta in their last league game, but they have not been impressive at the back of late, with the team conceding nine goals in previous three fixtures in Serie A. Frosinone will have a mountain to climb if they are to beat Roma at Stadio Olimpico, but I do not believe that they are capable of stopping the run of seven matches without a win. The Canarini have been struggling on the travels this season and you should have in mind that the relegation-threatened team have yet to record a win on the road in the 2015/2016 Serie A campaign. In their last away game in the national championship Torino recorded a 4-2 victory over Frosinone.

Mirko Gori (14/0) misses the match through suspension, while the likes of Carlini and Crivello are both sidelined with injury. Tonev, Gucher and Longo are all rated doubtful.

Quick Facts

  • Under 2.5 goals were scored in Roma’s previous seven home games
  • Romans are on a four-match winless run in all competitions
  • Giallorossi failed to keep a clean sheet in last four league matches
  • Frosinone are eyeing their first away win of the season
  • Canarini conceded 2+ goals in each of their last five away fixtures

Roma vs Frosinone betting tip

Roma are desperate to return to winning ways in the Serie A. The Romans have no other choice but to go all guns blazing at Frosinone and I am positive that they will pick up all three points from Saturday’s game against the relegation strugglers. Luciano Spalletti’s men aim to stay in the race for a place in the Champions League and given Canarini’s poor away record, anything but home win will be a major surprise. Roma recorded a 2-0 win over Frosinone in the reverse fixture.
