Romania vs Albania Team News
Mihai Pintili picked up a knock against Switzerland and he will be assessed on the match day. Ovidiu Hoban should start up front, alongside Andrei Prepelita. Razvan Rat is doubtful as well, while Steliano Filip is likely to recover in time to face Albania. Romania coach Anghel Iordanescu has no other selection worries ahead of the clash.
Doubtful: Razvan Rat (113/2), Mihai Pintili (33/1)
Centre back Lorik Cana returns to the starting line-up after missing the France game through suspension, but Burim Kukeli is banned. Ergys Kace is likely to replace Kukeli in the starting line-up. Bekim Bala could play some part in the final group game, with defender Frederi Veseli pushing for a start as well.
Suspended: Burim Kukeli (12/0)
- Under 2.5 goals were scored in previous three meetings between Albania and Romania
- Romania are unbeaten in previous five meetings with Albania
- The two teams meet for the first time ever at Euro finals
- Albania have yet to score at Euro finals
- Lorik Cana could earn his 93rd cap for Albania against Romania
Romania vs Albania Prediction
Albania have nothing to play for in their final group game. Gianni De Biasi’s troops have already suffered elimination in the Euro 2021 group stages, but their pride will be at stake this time out. The Romanians, on the other hand, need a big win over Albania in order to keep their hopes of making it to the knockout stages alive and that is the main reason why I am tempted to put my money on Anghel Iordanescu’s charges. Romania produced a fine display against Switzerland and they are definitely capable of beating Albania in their final group game.
Betting Tip: Romania to win
Odds: 2.20 (6/5) @Betfair
