Monaco vs Bordeaux prediction

Monaco will be looking to strengthen their grip on second place in Ligue 1 standings with a win over Bordeaux at their Stade Louis II. Les Girondins are on a five-game winless run in the league and they are eager to put an end to the negative trend.

Impressive win over PSG

Despite the fact that PSG had little to play for in the Parc des Princes clash, beating the title holders in the “City of Lights” is easier said than done. Monaco did well to outplay les Parisiens on Matchday 31 and they will be aiming to build on the triumph when they take on Bordeaux on Friday night. Les Rouges et Blancs recorded four wins in previous five home games and a triumph over les Girondins would see them clinch second position in the standings. Leonardo Jardim’s men are on the right track to book their place in the Champions League and they will certainly go for a win in the opening match of day 32 of the 2015/2016 Ligue 1 campaign. Brazilian attacker Vagner Love scored against PSG, meaning that the opposition defenders should have him at bay.

The likes of Pasalic, Traore and Joao Moutinho are all likely to miss the match with injury, while Nabil Dirar is sidelined through suspension. Bernardo Silva returns to contention after missing the PSG game through suspension.

Girondins hit by injuries and suspensions

Over the years Bordeaux have established themselves as a genuine top-table side in Ligue 1, but les Girondins have been struggling to find their best form this season, especially in the second half of the season. Bordeaux are on a five-game winless run in the national championship, but it has to be noted that Willy Sagnol has been having a lot of injury worries of late. Les Girondins head into the game against Monaco with a severely-weakened squad and they are likely to experience all sorts of problems in the Stade Louis II clash. Willy Sagnol’s troops conceded four goals in each of their previous two away games in the league and, taking everything into account, it is no surprise they are regarded as underdogs in Friday’s game against les Rouges et Blancs. Bordeaux struggle on the travels and, no doubt, the visitors will be more than happy with one point from the clash.

The likes of Chantome and Sane both miss the game through suspension, while the likes of Debuch, Chantome, Maurice-Belay, Carrasso, Pallois and Lefebvre are all out of contention through injury.

Quick Facts

  • Monaco scored 2+ goals in five of their last six home games in the league
  • Les Rouges et Blancs are on an eight-match unbeaten run in Ligue 1
  • Bordeaux conceded 20 goals in last six away matches
  • Les Girondins suffered four defeats in previous five away games
  • Bordeaux are eyeing their third consecutive win over Monaco

Monaco vs Bordeaux betting tip

Monaco are eyeing a place in the Champions League, meaning that Friday’s match against Bordeaux is of big importance for the hosts. Les Rouges et Blancs are a real force to be reckoned with at home and seeing that the visitors are hit by injuries and suspensions, there is every chance Leonardo Jardim’s troops will record their eighth home win of the season. Bordeaux emerged triumphant in the reverse fixture, meaning that Monaco are hungry for revenge.
