Valencia vs Malaga prediction

Mid-table Valencia are set to welcome the struggling Malaga at Mestalla on Saturday hoping to get back on winning ways after the setback against Athletic Bilbao just before the international break.

Hosts looking to keep the good form

Valencia are undefeated in their last 15 home games in Spanish championship and will surely look to add yet another to their record. Los Che are sitting in 9th place in the standings with nine points next to their name after seven rounds and will need to win if they want to keep up in the race for the top floor of the table. Valencia have suffered a 3-1 defeat at Athletic Bilbao last time around despite taking the lead early in the game through Parejo and will have to work on their focus and concentration. However, the international break has allowed the coach and players an extra time to recover from said defeat and try to prepare in the best possible way for the Malaga game and the sheer quality of their players as well as strong home support at Mestalla should help Valencia return to the right track.

Nuno Espirito Santo has quite a few of his players in the medical room and unavailable for the Saturday’s game. Goalkeeper Diego Alves remains sidelined with his cruciate ligament rupture which will keep him out of action until January. Another goalkeeper Mathew Ryan is having injury problems, but could be fit to perform. Enzo Perez, Aymen Abdennour and Jose Luis Gaya are all suffering from hamstring injuries, while Sofiane Feghouli has shaken off a knock and will be fit to play.

Malaga on the line

After six games without a win, Malaga have recorded an important triumph against Real Sociedad before the break and will get back to action in high spirits and motivated to get away from the relegation zone. Malaga are currently just one place above the line, level on points with Levante who are placed at the relegation spot. Los Boquerones have managed to stun Moyes’ team at Rosaleda and thus record their first win of the season. Javi Gracia’s team has got some major scoring issues which were quickly fixed with three against Sociedad, but it is worth mentioning that Malaga have failed to score in their last three away matches in La Liga. What is more, Malaga failed to win in 9 of their last ten away matches in domestic competition and are yet facing a stern test on Saturday when they travel to Valencia.

Fernando Tissone and Recio are suspended for the upcoming event, while Flavio Ferreira and Nordim Amrabat are unavailable due to their injuries. Arthur Boka is a doubt and will be subjected to a late fitness test before the game.

Valencia vs Malaga betting tip

Every aspect of the game is pointing to a home win. Valencia have beaten Malaga in their last six meetings in all competitions which is more than enough reason to support the hosts, along with their impressive unbeaten run of 15 home La Liga games.

Tip: Home win
