Real Betis vs Real Madrid prediction

Real Madrid have been producing thrilling displays in La Liga ever since Zinedine Zidane took over the reins. Los Blancos, though, still sit in third place in Primera Division standings, meaning that they face a must-win situation in Sunday’s game against Real Betis.

Fine performance against Villarreal

Despite being regarded as big underdogs in the clash against Villarreal, Real Betis did remarkably well to pick up one point from the Camp el Madrigal match (0-0). The Yellow Submarine failed to create a decent opportunity to score, meaning that los Beticos looked strong defensively. However, the newcomers still sit in the danger zone in Primera Division standings and, with Real Madrid next, they are unlikely to put an end to their ten-match winless run in the national championship. Anyhow, the hosts will certainly adopt a defence-minded approach in Sunday’s clash against los Blancos and it remains to be seen if they are capable of claiming a major scalp on day 21 of the 2015/2016 La Liga campaign. New coach Juan Merino is eager to help los Beticos secure yet another top flight survival, but they are on a very difficult quest.

Heiko Westermann failed to recover in time to face Real Madrid, but coach Juan Merino has no fresh injury worries ahead of the visit of Real Madrid. Jorge Molina is pushing for a start.

Los Blancos scoring goals for fun under Zidane

Real Madrid demolished Deportivo La Coruna 5-0 on Zinedine Zidane’s debut and, as expected, los Blancos recorded a routine win over Sporting Gijon in their last league game (5-1). The French boss is now on a quest to record his first away win with the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu outfit, but Sunday’s game against Real Betis will be anything but a walk in the park for the Spanish giants. Real Madrid are desperate to stay in the race for the domestic trophy, meaning that only a win counts for the title-chasing side. Gareth Bale has found his scoring boots and the Welsh ace is likely to pose a big threat for the opposition defenders on Sunday. Los Blancos played out a 2-2 draw with Valencia in their last away game in La Liga, but it has to be noted that los Che scored the equalizing goal in the dying minutes of the match. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace against Sporting Gijon and, no doubt, the opposition back line will have their work cut out for them when facing CR7.

Sergio Ramos has overcome his injury, meaning that Zinedine Zidane will have a full squad to choose from against Real Betis. Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic could return to the starting line-up.

Quick Facts

  • Real Betis suffered a loss in each of previous four encounters against Real Madrid
  • Los Beticos are eyeing their second home win of the season
  • Real Madrid scored ten goals in previous two meetings with Real Betis
  • Zinedine Zidane’s team recorded only one win in previous four away fixtures
  • Los Blancos netted 25 goals in previous five league games

Real Betis vs Real Madrid betting tip

Real Madrid have no other choice but to go all guns blazing at Real Betis. Los Blancos are desperate to regain top position in La Liga standings and I am positive that the visitors will leave their hearts on the field on Sunday evening. Real Betis recorded their last league win back in November and seeing that Real Madrid do not suit los Beticos, I am tempted to put my money on Zinedine Zidane’s troops.
