Switzerland vs Bosnia and Herzegovina prediction

The two teams will record a first encounter in history this Tuesday night in Zurih. Vladimir Petkovic will try to bounce his charges back to winning ways against the country he was born in, while Bosnia hope to record a successive triumph on the road.

Seferovic and Petkovic face their home country

Switzerland ended their four-game undefeated run against Ireland, since Ciaran Klark headed an early goal that turned out to be the decider in this match. The Schweizer pati looked pretty vulnerable in defense and could have fallen further behind if it weren’t for Yann Sommer. Seferovic and Embolo had a couple of chances, but did not manage to endanger Randolph. The Swiss were closest to the draw in the last ten minutes of the match, but Shani Tarashaj scuffed his effort wide. Now the Swiss return home where they will try to continue their six-game undefeated streak. La Nati have been scoring for fun in front of their supporters, with thirteen goals in their previous three home matches, and the supporters hope for a spectacle this time out. Petkovic and Seferovic are both of Bosnian origin, Haris even planned to play for the Zmajevi in not so distant past, but both him and his coach need to put their emotions aside if they plan to win in the forthcoming clash.

Vladimir Petkovic left his captain Gokhan Inler out of the squad, since he is struggling for minutes in Leicester. Petkovic told Inler he needs to start playing soon if he plans to book a place in France this summer. Shani Tarashaj of Everton, who was also eligible for Albania, earned his first cap, and is expected he will be given a chance once again. Nico Elvedi awaits his chance for a debut, while Philippe Senderos, Gelson Fernandes and Pajtim Kasami are pushing for a start.

Bazdarevic rested his key players against Luxemburg

Bosnia and Herzegovina managed to break Luxembourg’s resistance in the final twenty minutes of the game. The end result does not give a realistic picture of how hard it was for the Zmajevi to record a triumph (3-0), Chanot scored an opener, but sadly for him, it was in his own net. Dzeko’s shot two minutes later deflected from Milan Djuric and went behind Moris to double the advantage and Miralem Pjanic came from the bench to seal the deal in the final moments of the game. However, the Bosnians will have a much bigger fish to fry in Zurih this Tuesday, since the Swiss keep things tight in the back. Even so, Mehmed Bazdarevic’s charges usually manage to find the net at least once when playing away from home, and the names of Edin Dzeko, Miralem Pjanic and Vedad Ibisevic give us hope we will witness a spectacle in their premier clash with La Nati.

Bazdarevic rested most of his key players against Luxemburg, probably to keep them fresh for the Swiss. Edin Dzeko, Miralem Pjanic, Emir Spahic, Sead Kolasinac and Senad Lulic are all pushing for a start in the forthcoming match, while Begovic, Zukanovic and Besic will probably be in the starting line-up as well.

Quick Facts

  • The Swiss are undefeeated on home soil in their last six matches
  • Vladimir Petkovic’s side conceded just three times in the spell
  • The Schweizer pati netted at least three goals in previous three home fixtures
  • The Zmajevi have been blowing hot and cold on their travels
  • Bosnia failed to score on the road just once in their last six games

Switzerland vs Bosnia and Herzegovina betting tip

I trully expect a spectacle in the forthcoming encounter of the Schweizer pati and the Zmajevi, given the fact that both teams have a number of quality forwards in their ranks. However, Vladimir Petkovic’s charges are on a good run when playing in front of their supporters, so I will put my money on the hosts, especially bearing in mind Bosnia’s inconsistent performances on the road.

Tip: Switcerland to win
