Fiorentina vs Lech Poznan prediction

Fiorentina will be aiming to build on a thrilling 4-0 win over Belenenses when they host Lech Poznan at Stadio Artemio Franchi in their third group game in the 2015/2021 Europa League campaign.

Impressive win over Belenenses

Fiorentina made a flying start to the new Serie A campaign and despite suffering a 2-1 loss at Napoli at the weekend, Viola remained in top position in the standings. On the other hand, Paulo Sousa’s men suffered a 2-1 loss to Basel in the opening match of their Europa League campaign, but they did well to outclass Belenenses at Estadio de Restelo in their second group game. Fiorentina want to get their job done in Group I as soon as possible and no doubt the Serie A side will adopt an attack-minded approach against the Polish side. Nikola Kalinic has been in a terrific form this season, but the Croatian attacker is likely to be rested against Lech Poznan. In his absence, Giuseppe Rossi is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts. Over the years Fiorentina have turned their Stadio Artemio Franchi into a real fortress, but it has to be noted that they suffered back-to-back defeats to the likes of Sevilla and Basel in previous two home fixtures in the Europa League.

Gilberto remains in the recovery room, but Paulo Sousa has no fresh injury worries ahead of the match. The likes of Rossi, Babacar, Ilicic and Pasqual are all likely to return to the starting line-up.

Difficulties in front of goal

Lech Poznan played out a goalless draw with Belenenses in the opening match of their Europa League campaign and, as expected, they were beaten by Basel at St. Jakob-Park in their first away fixture in the process. The Kolejorz have yet to score in Group I and they need to grab something from Thursday’s game against Fiorentina if they are to keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stages alive. Maciej Skorza’s men are on a four-game winless run in all competitions and you should have in mind that they have conceded seven goals in previous two league matches. Lech Poznan have netted only one goal in last five away fixtures in the Europa League and it is no surprise they are regarded as big underdogs in Thursday’s encounter against Fiorentina. Polish rising star Dawid Kownacki is widely expected to lead the attack for the visitors against the Serie A outfit, but it remains to be seen if he is capable of making life difficult for Viola defenders.

Karol Linetty misses the match through suspension after he was shown a red card in the 2-0 loss to Basel. Hungarian midfielder Gergo Lovrencsics will be the man to watch in the away team.

Fiorentina vs Lech Poznan betting tip

Fiorentina were beaten by Basel in their first home fixture in the 2015/2021 Europa League campaign and the Italian side will be hoping to make amends for the defeat when they welcome Lech Poznan at their Stadio Artemio Franchi on Thursday. Viola are enjoying a very good season and seeing that the visitors struggle in front of goal, there is every chance Paulo Sousa’s men will record a routine win over the Polish team. Taking everything into account, I believe that there is a big value in betting on Fiorentina.
