Juventus vs Borussia Monchenglabach prediction

Italian champions are aiming to keep their perfect European record on Wednesday as they prepare to welcome Borussia Monchengladbach who are winless after opening two rounds in UEFA Champions League Group D.

Juve going for three out of three

The Bianchoneri have had a contrasting start to the season in Serie A and Champions League. However, things are starting to look up in both fronts with the CL win over Sevilla marking the beginning of a three-game unbeaten run. Having beaten the Spanish side 2:0, Juventus went on to recording their second win in Serie A over Bologna 3-1 and then played a goalless draw against their great rivals Inter in the Derby D’Italia. Massimiliano Alegri’s men will be hoping to keep their improved form when they take on Monchengladbach on Wednesday and to keep their 14-match unbeaten home run in UEFA competition. Last season’s finalists are buoyed with their excellent start in the competition and will hope that their in-form striker Paulo Dybala will get back on the score sheet, having failed to improve his tally of three versus Inter. The return of Claudio Marchisio to the team will be of huge importance as the experienced midfielder will give the much needed stability in the centre of the pitch and allow Allegri to give more freedom to his two forwards, Dybala and Morata.

Stephan Lichtsteiner, who had a heart surgery, and Martin Caceres, who picked up an ankle injury on international duty, will be the only absentees in Juventus’ squad. Allegri will once again have almost full crop of players to choose from, with Mandzukic and Pogba both back in action, and Buffon’s calf injury not serious. The experienced shot stopper will be available for the upcoming event.

Monchengladbach have nothing to lose

After their two Champions League defeats to Sevilla away (3-0) and most recently to Manchester City at home (1-2), the Foals are sitting at the bottom of Group D and will have nothing to lose when they travel to Turin. Unlike their poor European record, Monchengladbach have impressed in Bundesliga recently, having notched four straight wins under the caretaker manager Andre Schubert. Just like Juventus, Borussia Monchengladbach have had a lot of problems at the beginning of the new Bundesliga season. The Foals lost their first five matches, but managed to turn things around and their comprehensive 5-1 romping over Eintracht Frankfurt away has been a highlight of the season so far, a timely morale boost for Schubert’s men. German side will put their hopes in the hands of the Brazilian striker Raffael who is the team’s top scored with three goals domestically, hoping that he will be able to add more to his tally of three. The Foals will have nothing to lose when they lock horns with Juventus which is why they will pose a great threat to the in-form hosts. Their firs European Cup campaign since 1977-78 has been difficult, but the Germans will not give up or fly a white flag in this game.

The German side will be without Nico Schulz and Patrick Herrmann who are both having problems with knee injuries. Granit Xhaka tore the lateral collateral ligament and will miss the game as well.

Juventus vs Borussia Monchengladbach betting tip

The host are coming off from an emotionally exhausting derby with Inter but will be looking to keep their perfect European record intact. Visiting team have recovered from their poor start of the new campaign but lack the firing power in the Champions League and I don’t see them posing any threat to the Italian giants who could record an easy win.
