The draw for the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament at the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro has pitted hosts Brazil against South Africa, Iraq and Denmark and in Group A.
Mexico and Germany will be vying for first place in Group C, whereas Argentina face Portugal, among other sides in Group D.
The Men’s Olympic Football Tournament at the 2016 Summer Games will take place from 4 August to 20 August in six Brazilian cities.
Besides the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, games will also be hosted by Brasilia, Sao Paulo, Salvador, Belo Horizonte and Manaus.
Top two teams from each of the four groups will progress to the quarter-finals, with subsequent knockout stages set to determine the winner.
Mexico head into the tournament as the reigning champions having defeated Brazil in the 2012 final, while the Selecao, Argentina and Germany will be among other favourites for the trophy.
While most players in the squad must be 23 years or younger, each team is allowed to register three over-23 players, meaning that there will be some star names on display.
The likes of Neymar, Sergio Aguero, Philippe Coutinho, Riyad Mahrez, Christian Eriksen and Mesut Ozil are all expected to play for their respective sides.
