Haiti coach Patrice Neveu has selected a 23-man squad for the 2016 Copa America, which will be held in United States of America.

A few eyebrows may have been raised when Neveu selected his squad for the upcoming tournament as some players surprisingly made the final roster.

Uncapped Luis Valendi Odelus is the only representative from the domestic championship and he could he could make his Haiti debut in a friendly against Colombia on 30 May.

Haiti have been drawn alongside Brazil, Peru and Ecuador in Group B and it remains to be seen if they are capable of claiming at least one major scalp at the 2016 Copa America.

Duckens Nazon, who impressed at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, made the Haiti Copa America squad, with fellow attackers Kervens Belfort, Jean-Eudes Maurice, Wilde-Donald Guerrier and Jeff Louis being included in the squad as well.

Patrice Neveu’s team kick off their 2016 Copa America campaign with a game against Peru on 5 June.

Jamaica coach Winfried Schafer has unveiled the final 23-man squad for the 2016 Copa America Centenario tournament.

The likes of Andre Blake, Rodolph Austin and Westley Morgan will represent the Reggae Boyz at the Copa America, but they will not take part in a friendly against Chile on May 27.

Jamaica have been drawn alongside Venezuela, Mexico and Uruguay in Group C and they certainly face an uphill task at the upcoming tournament.

Demar Phillips, Alvas Powell and Darren Mattocks have been left out of the squad, but Birmingham City attacker Clayton Donaldson and Brondby midfielder Rodolph Austin made the Jamaica Copa America squad. Damano Solomon could make his debut for the Reggae Boyz against Chile.

Jamaica failed to impress at the 2015 Copa America as they were beaten by Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina in Group B.

Jamaica Copa America squad:

Goalkeepers: Andre Blake (Philadelphia Union), Duwayne Kerr (Stjarnan), Ryan Thompson (Saint Louis);

Defenders: Jermaine Taylor (Portland Timbers), Adrian Mariappa (Crystal Palace), Kemar Lawrence (New York Red Bulls), Wes Morgan (Leicester City), Michael Hector (Reading), Rosario Harriott (Harbour View), Damano Solomon (Portmore United);

Forwards: Simon Dawkins (San Jose), Giles Barnes (Houston Dynamo), Dever Orgill (Mariehamn), Clayton Donaldson (Birmingham City), Allan Ottey (Montego Bay United).

United States coach Jurgen Klinsmann has unveiled a 23-man squad that will participate at the historic 2016 Copa America Centenario.

The German tactician will count on 15 players who were part of the USA 2014 FIFA World Cup squad and a total of 18 footballers who have already represented the national team in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

The likes of Michael Bradley, Kyle Beckerman and Clint Dempsey all missed the friendly against Puerto Rico, but they were included in the USA Copa America squad.

Jozy Altidore’s injury seems to be the biggest blow for the USMNT and he will be sorely missed at the upcoming showpiece tournament.

Talented players John Brooks, Bobby Wood and DeAndre Yedlin made the squad as well and they are expected to shine at the 2016 Copa America.

“We feel that these 23 going into the very special Copa America, they really deserved to be there. “Obviously when you get down and you decide on the final 23-man roster, there are very close, tight decisions to make.

The moment when you decide, it’s about definitely who you feel the strongest about.”, said Jurgen Klinsmann.

USA kick off their Copa America campaign with star-studded Colombia on 3 June at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. The Yanks will take on Paraguay and Costa Rica in Group A as well.

USA Copa America squad:

Goalkeepers: Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Colorado Rapids), Ethan Horvath (Molde IK);

Defenders: Matt Besler (Sporting KC), Steve Birnbaum (D.C. United), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Timmy Chandler (Eintracht Frankfurt), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Michael Orozco (Club Tijuana), DeAndre Yedlin (Tottenham Hotspur);

Midfielders: Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Jermaine Jones (Colorado Rapids), Perry Kitchen (Heart of Midlothian), Darlington Nagbe (Portland Timbers), Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy), 19-Graham Zusi (Sporting KC);

Forwards: Bobby Wood (Hamburg), Chris Wondolowski (SJ Earthquakes), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC).

Mexico national team coach Juan Carlos Osorio has unveiled his squad for the 2016 Copa America Centenario, with star players Carlos Vela and Giovani dos Santos missing.

El Tri were placed in Group B alongside Jamaica, Uruguay and Venezuela at the tournament finals, but they are still expected to make it through to the next stage.

With the 2016 Summer Olympics also in mind, Mexico coach Juan Carlos Osorio has announced his 23-man squad for the 2016 Copa America Centenario tournament.

There have been some surprises as the likes of Candido Ramirez and Yasser Corona made the cut, but star men Giovani dos Santos and Carlos Vela miss out.

And while the LA Galaxy forward has rejected a chance to represent the Mexico soccer team, it was coach Juan Carlos Osorio who decided to spare the Real Sociedad hotshot.

Their absence is unlikely to be such a major issue considering that the boss can still count on Javier Hernandez, Oribe Peralta and Raul Jimenez.

The Mexico squad will travel to the United States on 26 May, where they will face Paraguay (May 28) and Chile (June 1) in their final warm-up games.

Mexico Copa America squad:

Goalkeepers: Alfredo Talavera (Toluca), Jesus Corona (Cruz Azul), Guillermo Ochoa (Malaga);

Defenders: Paul Aguilar (America), Nestor Arujo (Santos), Diego Reyes (Real Sociedad), Hector Moreno (PSV), Yasser Corona (Queretaro), Jorge Torres Nilo (Tigres), Miguel Layun (Porta), Rafa Marquez (Atlas), Jesus Molina (Santos);

Midfielders: Hector Herrera (Porto), Jesus Duenas (Tigres), Andres Guardado (PSV), Carlos “Gullit” Pena (Chivas);

Forwards: Jurgen Damm (Tigres), Hirving Lozano (Pachuca), Jesus “Tecatito” Corona (Porto), Javier Aquino (Tigres), Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez (Bayer Leverkusen), Raul Jimenez (Benfica), Oribe Peralta (America).

Panama coach Hernan Dario Gomez has announced his final squad for the 2016 Copa America Centenario tournament taking place in the United States from June 3 to June 26.

Los Canaleros impressed to achieve a third-place finish at the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup in Canada and they will be looking to build on that performance.

Panama will be vying CONMEBOL sides Argentina, Chile and Bolivia in Group D at the tournament finals and it is clear that they face a very difficult task.

It is hardly surprising that head coach Hernan Dario Gomez has opted against major changes to his standard group, naming a very similar squad to that which faced Haiti in March qualifiers.

Blas Perez, Jaime Penedo and Luis Tejada are some of the star names on the list, whereas the inclusion of talented FC Porto forward Ismael Diaz is enough to suggest that the boss is also looking towards the future.

The likes of Brazil and Paraguay have already named their final rosters for the showpiece tournament, whereas other sides have until May 20 to finalise their lists.

Panama Copa America Centenario squad:

Goalkeepers: Jose Calderon (Platense), Jaime Penedo (Saprissa), Alex Rodriguez (San Francisco);

Defenders: Felipe Baloy (Atlas), Harold Cummings (Alajuelense), Eric Davis (FC DAC 1904), Fidel Escobar (Sporting San Miguelito), Luis Henriquez (Tauro), Adolfo Machado (Saprissa), Roderick Miller (San Francisco);

Midfielders: Ricardo Buitrago (Juan Aurich), Armando Cooper (Arabe Unido), Anibal Godoy (San Jose Earthquakes), Gabriel Gomez (Cartagines), Amilcar Henriquez (America), Valentin Pimental (La Equidad), Alberto Quintero (San Jose Earthquakes);

Forwards: Abdiel Arroyo (RNK Split), Ismael Diaz (Porto B), Roberto Nurse (Mineros de Zacatecas), Blas Perez (Vancouver Whitecaps), Luis Tejada (Juan Aurich), Gabriel Torres (Zamora).

Benfica striker Raul Jimenez has been given permission to represent the Mexico soccer team at the 2016 Copa America Centenario and 2016 Summer Olympics.

After struggling for playing time in the first part of the season, the 24-year-old has shown plenty of improvement of late, scoring three goals in last four appearances.

Jimenez admits he is delighted to be playing regular football and he admits that Benfica officials have allowed him to take part at both Copa America and Summer Games next summer in case he is called by the Mexico coaches.

“I know how difficult it is for a European club to release a player for the Olympic Games,” Jimenez told Radio MVS. “More than for any other competition, because Copa America is almost mandatory.

“I talked to people from Benfica, told them there was a possibility of being called to one or both tournaments and that I wanted to go.

”They said yes, they support me completely. They told me they always wanted to make the players happy, they want me to play since I did not have many minutes (this season).”

Raul Jimenez made five substitute appearances for El Tri at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and everything suggests he will play an important role for Mexico at the 2016 tournament in Rio de Janeiro (3-20 August), where his side will face Germany, South Korea and Fiji in Group C.

Meanwhile, El Tri will play Jamaica, Uruguay and Venezuela in Group C at the 2016 Copa America Centenario (3-26 June).

The United States Men’s National Team will face Puerto Rico in the first warm-up game for the 2016 Copa America, it has been revealed.

The match will take place at the Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon, at 12 p.m. ET on May 22 and this will be the first ever meeting between the two national teams.

Considering that all Puerto Ricans born in the United States are given American citizenship, all the players representing Puerto Rico in the match against USMNT had been eligible to represent Jurgen Klinsmann’s side at one point in time.

The US soccer team will begin their preparations for the 2016 Copa America Centenario on May 16 in Miami, although the MLS players are set to join a week later and are unlikely to take part in the first friendly game.

After the Puerto Rico clash, USA will play Ecuador at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas on May 25 and Bolivia at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City on May 28.

While players plying their trade in Mexico and Europe will be with Jurgen Klinsmann from the start of the training camp, the MLS stars will join in the build up to the Ecuador game.

The under-fire coach has until May 20 to submit his final roster for the 2016 Copa Centenario tournament, where USMNT will face Colombia, Costa Rica and Paraguay in Group A.

Mexico national team may be able to count on some star names for the 2016 Summer Olympics, according to the latest reports.

El Tri will be vying for the Olympics trophy between 3 and 20 August next summer, but they also have the 2016 Copa America Centenario to contend with from 3 to 26 June.

Chances are that Mexico will be heading to two showpiece tournaments with different squads, but there is a chance the Under-23 coach Raul Gonzalez may be able to count on star players Javier Hernandez, Andres Guardado, Hector Herrera and Hector Moreno.

All teams at the Olympic Football Tournament are allowed to register up to three players over the age of 23 and El Tri could be including some star names into their squad.

Namely, striker Erick “Chubo” Torres told ESPN that the four players have made themselves available for selection, with FC Porto forward Jesus Corona another footballer to be considered.

PSV Eindhoven captain Andres Guardado has revealed that he will be allowed to travel to Rio if his side clinch the Eredivisie title, but he is unlikely to play for Mexico if PSV are forced to take part in the Champions League qualifying stages.

And while the Copa America Centenario, where El Tri have been pitted against Uruguay, Jamaica and Venezuela, definitely has the priority, Mexico also plan to launch an assault on the Olympics title as well.

The draw for the Olympic Football Tournament will be held at the Maracana stadium in Rio on 14 April, with 16 teams drawn into four groups.
