Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan is in talks over a summer move to Manchester United, his official representative has moved to confirm.
The Red Devils have long been keen on the Argentine footballer, and it appears they have finally decided to make their interest concrete.
Gaitan’s agent Jose Irribarren has moved to suggest that they are already in talks with Manchester United over a proposed switch to Old Trafford.
“Anything is possible, the negotiations that are pending do exist,” Irribarren told Antena 1. “We are waiting for a response from Manchester United.”
Nicolas Gaitan, 27, has three years left on his deal at Estadio da Luz, meaning the Red Devils will have to match his €35 million release clause in order to secure his signature.
The Argentine has enjoyed several very successful years with Benfica, scoring 30 goals and producing 67 assists in 214 competitive appearances.
