Sampaoli names provisional Chile squad for Brazil, Peru

Sampaoli names provisional Chile squad for Brazil, PeruCelta Vigo winger Fabian Orellana has earned a recall to Chile squad as Jorge Sampaoli announced the list of players that will represent the country in 2018 World Cup qualifiers vs Brazil and Peru.

La Roja head into the new qualifying campaign buoyed by the 2015 Copa America triumph, while they also defeated Paraguay in an international friendly earlier this month.

Chile play host to Brazil on October 8 at the start to the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign before facing Peru on the road five days later and coach Jorge Sampaoli has now revealed the names of 16 foreign-based players for said matches.

The highly rated tactician is expected to complete the list with home-based footballers in the next few days.

The biggest surprise has been the inclusion of Celta Vigo winger Fabian Orellana (30/2), who hinted at international retirement after he had been left out of the Copa America squad.

Atletico Paranense defender Christian Vilches (1/0) is also back to international fold, but Mauricio Pinilla, Angelo Henriquez and Junior Fernandes have been overlooked.

Star midfielder Charles Aranguiz (40/6) continues to miss out through injury, but there are no other worries for Jorge Sampaoli.
