Nestor Clausen to be named interim Bolivia coach

Nestor Clausen to be named interim Bolivia coachArgentine tactician Nestor Clausen has moved to confirm that he will take over the reigns at the Bolivia national team on interim basis.

La Verde have been managerless since the end of the 2015 Copa America tournament as Mauricio Soria resigned from the post.

And with international friendlies against Argentina and Dominican Republic now just weeks away, national team chiefs were forced to appoint a new boss.

Former Independiente coach Nestor Clausen has been given the role on interim basis, with the official announcement set to be made later today.

“They asked me to give them a hand,” Clausen was quoted as saying in Argentine newspaper Ole.

Meanwhile, Miguel Portugal and Guillermo Hoyos are among favourites to lead Bolivia in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Nestor Clausen has coached quite a few teams in Bolivia’s top flight and he has clearly done enough to make the step to the country’s national team.

La Verde will face Argentina national team on September 4 in Houston before testing their skills against minnows Dominican Republic.
