Jeffren called to Venezuela squad for Honduras, Panama friendlies

Jeffren Suarez called into Venezuela squad for Honduras, Panama friendliesFormer Barcelona winger Jeffren Suarez has received his first ever call-up for the Venezuela national team after switching his allegiance from Spain.

La Vinotinto will contest international friendlies against CONCACAF sides Honduras and Panama during the FIFA dates at the start of September and coach Noel Sanvicente has announced his 26-man squad for said games.

The main news is the inclusion of Barcelona graduate Jeffren Suarez, who has obtained necessary paperwork to represent Venezuela after making 12 appearances for Spain Under-21 side.

The Real Valladolid winger was born in Venezuela and is now set to make his first appearance for his native country.

Fulham defender Fernando Amorebieta surprisingly misses out, while Juan Falcon (3/0) returns to the side after recovering from injury.

Christian Santos (1/0), Franco Signorelli (2/0) and Mario Rondon (10/2) have also been recalled, while six players from the squad ply their trade in Venezuela’s top flight.

The squad will meet on 30 August at Centro Nacional de Alto Rendimiento before travelling to Puerto Ordaz on 2 September.
