England boss Roy Hodgson is set to hold a team meeting with his players at the National Football Centre near Burton-upon-Trent in order to get together with England players and cut the gap between international games with a formal meeting.
Similar meeting was planned last year, but it was ultimately called off due to unsuccessful negotiations with Premier League clubs.
This year’s get-together is likely to take place in the evening after the players have trained with their respective clubs as Roy Hodgson wants to check on his player’s progress ahead of the preparations for Euro 2021.
Among the players who have been called to a team meeting are Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck, who have not played for England for eight and eleven months, respectively.
Welbeck has been a regular in Hodgson’s England ahead of his knee injury, while Wilshere has not featured for England or his club this season due to recurring leg injury.
Arsenal duo have been given all clear to attend the meeting from Arsene Wenger.
In addition, around 40 players are expected to be present at the meeting, but Danny Ings and Luke Shaw will miss out.
The FA however insists that those who do not attend the call-up will not have been ruled out of consideration for the 2016 European Championship finals in France.
England have been drawn in group B with Russia, Wales and Slovakia.
