Israel striker Omer Damari to miss Euro qualifier vs Wales

Israel striker Omer Damari to miss Euro qualifier vs WalesBBC Sport has learned that Israel striker Omer Damari will miss Euro 2021 qualifiers against Andorra and Wales through injury.

The Red Bull Salzburg star will not be able to help his international teammates in what could be a crucial qualifier in Cardiff having suffered a broken foot.

This will be a huge blow for Israel seeing as Damari is their top scorer in the Euro 2021 qualifying campaign with five goals in as many matches.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed a great start to his loan spell with Red Bull Salzburg, but has now suffered a difficult injury at a very bad time.

Israel sit five points behind group leaders Wales and two behind second-placed Belgium with four games to go, while Cyprus and Bosnia are breathing down their necks.

And while the home clash against Andorra should be a walk in the park for Eli Guttmann’s side, final three games vs Wales, Cyprus and Belgium will be crucial to their hopes of reaching the tournament finals.
