Dzeko makes Bosnia squad for Wales, Cyprus qualifiers

Dzeko makes Bosnia squad for Wales, Cyprus qualifiersManchester City striker Edin Dzeko has been named in Bosnia-Hercegovina squad for Euro 2021 qualifiers vs Wales and Cyprus.

The Dragons need to defeat the group leaders in order to stand any chance of making the play-offs and they are 2.15 (23/20) favourites to beat Wales in Zenica.

Coach Mehmed Bazdarevic has now named a 30-man squad for October games, with Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko keeping his place despite suffering a knee injury.

The highly rated striker was expected to be out for four weeks after injuring his knee at the weekend, but the Bosnia coach clearly believes the 29-year-old can recover in time to help the team in the crucial qualifiers.

Miralem Pjanic and Ervin Zukanovic are back to the side after recovering from their respective injuries, but Zvjezdan Misimovic has been overlooked.

Everton starlet Muhamed Besic misses out having been slapped a three-match suspension for the red card received against Andorra.

Bosnia play host to Wales on 10 October before facing Cyprus on the road three days later and there is a good chance they will make the play-offs if they win both of those games.

Bosnia squad:
