Michael Bradley out of USA’s friendly vs Peru

Michael Bradley out of USA's friendly vs PeruUSA star Michael Bradley has moved to confirm that he will not be taking part in USMNT’s friendly against Peru.

The United States national team takes on La Blanquirroja on September 4 at the RFK stadium in in Washington, D.C., before facing Brazil four days later in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

And despite being ever-present for the national team this year, Bradley has announced he is set to miss the Peru game in order to help Toronto FC in high-profile clash with Seattle Sounders.

“I’ll be with Toronto FC in Seattle,” Bradley told TSN 1050 (Toronto) on Friday. “There were some discussions between everyone at U.S. Soccer and everyone at Toronto FC, also going back a few months to when we played those friendlies in June.

“There was a little bit of a discussion and an agreement that for this game in Seattle that I would be able to stay with Toronto FC. And then, afterwards, if Jurgen would like, then I’ll join up with the team in Boston for the game against Brazil.”

And with Toronto FC having allowed their star player to feature for the USMNT in June 5 friendly against the Netherlands and thus miss the MLS game against D.C. United, it is hardly surprising they now want Bradley to prioritize club over country.

All United States soccer team fans hoping to watch either of the two games alive should bear in mind that tickets to international football matches can be found here.
