Australia’s Mile Jedinak picks up hamstring injury

Australia's Mile Jedinak picks up hamstring injury Australia midfielder Mile Jedinak is expected to miss the 2018 World Cup qualifiers vs Bangladesh and Tajikistan through injury.

The 31-year-old was named in Ange Postecoglu’s 23-man squad for the September qualifiers, but it looks as though he will be forced to withdraw from the roster.

Namely, Jedinak suffered a hamstring injury playing for Crystal Palace in the Capital One Cup and manager Alan Pardew believes his captain is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

“I’m a little bit worried about the skipper, he might have done a hamstring, but we’ll have to wait and see,” Pardew said.

“We think he might have done something a little bit long term, but we’ll have to assess him in the morning.”

Australia began the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign with 2-1 away win over Kyrgyzstan, and they will want to continue in the same manner.
