Aston Villa summer recruit Rudy Gestede has been named in Benin squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mali.
Despite playing for France youth teams, the towering striker switched his allegiance to the Squirrels in 2013 and has since scored 3 goals in 6 appearances.
But, having missed quite a few national team games since, Gestede will be happy to return to international fold ahead of the important AFCON qualifier against Mali, taking place on 6 September.
Lazadi Fousseni (3/0), Jordan Adeoti (5/0) and Frederic Gounongbe (2/1) are also back to the side as coach Oumar Tchomogo names a 23-man squad.
Caen defender Emmanuel Imorou (9/0) has been sidelined through injury, while Reda Johnson (11/0), Jodel Dossou (7/0) and Mohamed Aoudou (15/2) have been overlooked.
Premier League stars Stephane Sesegnon (54/13) and Rudy Gestede will be heavily relied on for the Mali game, with Benin having started the campaign by sharing spoils with Equatorial Guinea.
