Nigeria international midfielder Izunna Uzochukwu has confirmed he is ready to return into action after recovering from injury.
The 25-year-old was handed his Super Eagles debut in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier vs Tanzania, but he picked up a groin injury in the process.
Uzochukwu has since missed several matches for his club Amkar Perm, but has now made it clear he is back to the side.
“I am getting better every day. I just resumed training on Tuesday with our physical trainer to see how the reaction of injury will be, but it looks good so far,” the midfielder told African Football.
“I should be back training fully with the team next week.”
This means that Uzochukwu is in contention to earn a place in Sunday Oliseh’s squad for October friendlies vs Congo and Cameroon, taking place on October 8 and October 11.
The Danish-born footballer, who spent the majority of his club career so far at Midtjylland, also considered representing Denmark at international level before receiving a call from the Nigeria coach.
