Mali star Adama Traore suffers ankle injury

Mali star Adama Traore suffers ankle injuryMali starlet Adama Traore is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines having suffered a fractured ankle in training.

The 20-year-old picked up a serious injury while training with Monaco and the French side moved to reveal that the midfielder will undergo a surgery to repair the problem.

This means that Traore is likely to miss next few months of action, meaning he will be unavailable for Mali’s World Cup qualifiers against Eritrea or Botswana, scheduled for November.

The attacking midfielder led Mali to a third-place finish at the Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand and he was named the Player of the Tournament.

Traore was sold to Monaco in the summer transfer window and he went on to make six league appearances for the Principality Club.

The highly rated footballer is predicted a bright future in the game and is expected to develop into one of key players for the Mali national team.
