Ghana, England vying for Joe Dodoo’s international future

Ghana and England vying for Joe Dodoo's international futureGhana Football Association (GFA) hopes to persuade Leicester City forward Joseph “Joe” Dodoo to pledge his international future to the Black Stars.

The 20-year-old was only promoted to Leicester City senior side this summer, but he has already made quite an impact.

Dodoo scored a hat-trick on his competitive debut, helping the Foxes record a 4-1 Capital One Cup win over Bury before featuring in his first Premier League game against Bournemouth.

And with the talented footballer in line to receive a call-up for England Under-21 side, the GFA chiefs aim to persuade the player to switch his allegiance to Ghana.

Even if he has represented England at Under-18 level, Dodoo had been born in Kumasi, Ghana and he moved to the UK when he was eight.

It is believed that the player himself would prefer to continue representing the Three Lions, but the GFA officials will not be giving up without a fight.

Dodo should be in contention to represent Leicester City against Aston Villa this weekend, where the Foxes are 1.95 (19/20) to emerge victorious.
