Spain vs South Korea Team News
Spain full-back Dani Carvajal suffered a serious injury in the Champions League final and, as a result, he will miss Euro 2021 finals. Hector Bellerin stepped up and he is likely to start against South Korea. Villarreal midfielder Bruno surprisingly made the cut, but both Diego Costa and Santi Cazorla miss out. The likes of Sergio Ramos and Juanfran are likely to be rested against Korea, while Isco and Saul should be discarded from Vicente Del Bosque’s Euro 2021 squad, reports in Spain suggest.
Injured: Dani Carvajal
Doubtful: Sergio Ramos, Juanfran, Lucas Vazquez, Koke
Suspended: None
The likes of Lee Chung-yong, Park Joo-ho and Kim Jin-su have all been left out of the squad, but Swansea City ace Ki Sung-yueng made the list. Son Heung-min of Tottenham and Suk Hyun-jun of Porto made the South Korea squad for the Spain friendly as well. Kim Chang-soo misses the match with injury, with Lee Yong stepping up. There are no uncapped players in the squad.
Injured: Kim Chang-soo
Doubtful: None
Suspended: None
Quick Facts
- Spain are on a ten-game unbeaten run
- Under 2.5 goals were scored in seven of Spain’s last nine games
- Andres Iniesta could earn his 108th cap for Spain against Korea
- South Korea are after their tenth consecutive win
- The Koreans eliminated Spain in the 2002 World Cup knockout stages
Spain vs South Korea Prediction
Despite the fact that Vicente Del Bosque couldn’t count on several first-team regulars against Bosnia, Spain recorded a 3-1 win over Edin Dzeko and Co. and they certainly head into Wednesday’s friendly against South Korea full of confidence. The Koreans will be without several important players in the Red Bull Arena clash, I am tempted to put my money on the European champions.
