Torino vs Inter prediction

Back-to-back high profile games for Torino, as the Bulls prepare to welcome the in-form table topper Inter in a Sunday’s match programme opener. Having lost to Juventus in the last round of Serie A, Torino are in for yet another stern test.

Bulls on a poor run

Torino are winless in their last five games, having last won their league match in September at home against Palermo. Gaimpioero Ventura’s charges have since then lost three and drawn two, having collected mere two points out of 15 in the offer. The poor run has seen Torino drop to the 11th place in the standings with the total tally of 15 points after 11 Serie A rounds. The Bulls are preparing to welcome Inter after a defeat in the local derby to Juventus and will have to rediscover their motivation and concentration if they want to record a positive result against Mancini’s men. The hosts will be under a lot of pressure as they look to improve their defence records this season. Il Toro have conceded the total of 17 goals this term which puts them in frame with the relegation strugglers Verona and Carpi. They have scored as many in 11 rounds so far, and Giampiero Ventura will have his hands full working to fix the issues in his team’s play. Torino manager will most likely turn for help to his two top scorers this season, Daniele Baselli and Fabio Quagliarella. The 23-year-old Italian midfielder and his more experienced teammate have scored four league goals each and will be looking to further improve their exploits.

Ventura’s difficulties have been made worse with a long list of injured players. Pontus Jansson, Nikola Maksimovic and Danilo Avelar remain long-term absentees, while Joel Obi, Alessandro Gazzi and Josef Martinez complete the injury list with their minor problems. In addition, defender Cesare Bovo is serving his yellow card suspension.

Can Inter go all the way?

Roberto Mancini has managed to reform Inter. The Italian tactician has consolidated the leaky defence and Inter have conceded only seven goals this term, which is by far the best record in the league. However, Mancini has been heavily criticized for his team’s style of play as Nerazzurri have so far scored 11 goals in ten games. However, his tactics are yielding results, and his team is travelling to Turin on the back of the huge 1-0 derby win over Roma which saw Inter jump to the top of the standings, level on points with Fiorentina. Roberto Mancini will be glad to have his in-form striker Mauro Icardi back to the starting line-up after his post-game comments when he criticized his teammates for the lack of service upfront. The talismanic striker bagged three league goals and is the most efficient player of the team, alongside Stevan Jovetic who has also put as many goals this term. Yuto Nagatomo has hugely impressed being deployed at left back against Roma, and the 29-year-old Japanese could once again be given a starting berth. Adem Ljajic has also produced a fine performance against his former club and is likely to be given a chance instead of Stevan Jovetic upfront.

Roberto Mancini will be pleased with his squad situation as there are no fresh injuries to be reported. Nemanja Vidic remains on the sidelines with his long-term injury, while Fredy Guarin is suspended for the game.

Torino vs Inter betting tip

The hosts are going downhill and will struggle to make anything out of the game with the joint league leaders Inter. Nerrazzuri will be keen on continuing their fine form in pursuit for the Scudetto and should be supported for an away win. Goals are, however, the safer bet.

Tip: Under 2.5 goals
